01

Trace the busiest movement

Keep the delivery and servicing route visible on the same plan and review crossings with the site team.

02

Spread demand across the schedule

Consider whether staggered access or more than one facility location would reduce queues without obstructing emergency access.

03

Coordinate signs, lighting, and service zones

Mark a waiting area separate from the main walkway, keep utility equipment outside pedestrian circulation, and make the entry and exit directions clear. Include cleaning and service-vehicle access in the circulation drawing. Review how the layout works during shift changes and after dark.

04

Keep queues and servicing routes separate

  • The separate entry, exit, and waiting areas at peak demand
  • Lighting and signs for the actual pedestrian route
  • The servicing approach outside queues and emergency access routes
